The Vision
The end time’s harvest that God has called us to reach will
never be reaped with the traditional method we presently use.
Our modern day church structure is designed to only develop and
produce good church members and not trained disciples to fulfill
the great commission.
However, if we are to make a difference we have to begin to
reexamine the principles given by God to involve every believer
in Evangelism. In examining the membership we will notice that
very few are actually involved in outreach and kingdom expansion
called for in the great commission.
The New Testament scriptures hold the answer to the blue print
of what God has given us in involving saints to become involved
on a one and one ministry and study of the word.
The explosive growth of the early church came as a result of the
bonding through the sense of community relationship in small
group meeting (house to house). While many large churches have
adapted the cell group concept which has helped to maintain and
keep members in the small group setting there is still the need
for a more integrated response to the study of the word that
will promise spiritual growth overall.
The undeniable truth is that for us to realize growth and
produce disciples we must bring God’s principles for growth that
the New Testament so clearly provides. Jesus started his
ministry by selecting twelve men who would later radically
change the world. And all throughout the scripture we see the
spirit of God organizing group structures in units of twelve.
Twelve is said to be the number of Spiritual significance. It is
the number of Eternal Perfection. There were twelve tribes of
Israel in the Old Testament. Church of Ephesus started with
twelve, twelve gates to the New Jerusalem, etc.,
The power of twelve is a concept that is worth giving attention
to as we see God Himself adopting this method of managing
people. The New Testament method of the group of twelve concepts
is designed to empower and challenge believers to carry out the
great commission
The vision that God has given and when He has so vividly
reminded us about can be realized through this twelve concept
which will better enable us to involve and manage membership
The power of twelve principles will require full commitment from
leadership and the willingness of membership to grow and be
led. The power of twelve is to provide an immediate contact
fellowship for our present membership and to bring about a sense
of belonging especially to the new believers
The saints meeting to study the word in a group setting each
Wednesday will definitely promote spiritual development, growth
and community relationship. As new converts are added they too
will become involved and established within the covenant caring,
neutered for growth and discipleship. This will effectively
close the backdoor and will help to preserve the harvest placing
new believers on the path to become devoted disciples of Jesus
Christ.
